The FLDGuitar Challenge Winners!

On October 13 the first official sponsored Stage Off, Inc. competition ended. We had a variety of great rock musicians enter this competition with the winners being MidLifeKrisis - a Journey tribute band from Vancouver, Canada (West Cost is always where it's at). Performing at bars and clubs in the Vancouver area, many of these guys have played music with several bands throughout the last 30 years and keep rocking out like there's no tomorrow!

The Band consists of lead singer, Andy Senko; Daryle Dean Warkentin with guitars, keyboards, background vocals; Cam Shuttleworth with bass, background vocals; and Randy Friesen on the drums! They perform regularly and you can view there latest performance from last night (Halloween) on their YouTube channel, Mid Life Krisis, and you can check out their website at http://www.got-mlk.com/history.html.

Here's "the Summer of 69" from their most recent performance:

What's great about these guys is that they're involved in making the world a better place. For example, Andy Senko works as an employment consultant, helping people improve their opportunities to find work - something very necessary in today's economy.

A huge thanks to KLDGuitar.com for providing an effects pedal and UNLIMITED purchases at a wholesale prize to the winners of this competition. Check out their products and maybe they'll sponsor you sometime.

To all our great musicians and fans out there, get your music ready, Stage Off is now launching the Musicians of the Year 2011 Challenge! This is something you'll want to be a part of!

MOTA - A Band of Atomic Sound

The greatest musicians are those that are able to think deeply about all aspects of life - not only music. The very name MOTA reveals the intellect, creativity, and uniqueness of this band. MOTA is the word "atom" backwards - which the lead singer, Julian Terris used to describe his own philosophy of the universe while in high school.

Julian realized that the atom, which is the substance of everything, is very similar in make up to our universe as a whole. After all, an atom is a nucleus surrounded by orbiting electrons, and our solar system is a sun, surrounded by orbiting planets. Julian states "it was total bollix of course".  But is it really? Could our galaxy be a single "atom" of an even greater being?

Great people never limit themselves to that which has been proven. The world moves forward because of great ideas - founded on creativity, questioning the status quo, and never settling for mediocrity.

MOTA, made up of John Costa (bass), Joe Murphy (lead guitar), Dan Hearn (drums), and Julian Terris (singer), is a dynamic rock band from New Zealand that is doing an excellent job of creating their own unique sound that is catching and entertaining. We will post more about them and how to follow them here on our blog, on our Facebook, and our Twitter account. Check out their music on www.myspace.com/motarock.

Stage Off, Inc. - The Online Talent Show

With the purpose of Stage Off being to help musicians gain publicity and get their names out there, I thought it would be a great idea to create a blog that would give pointers to musicians, show off talent that we have found, and simply provide some entertainment. I hope you enjoy our blog and check out our website to learn more about how we are finding the musicians of tomorrow through our online talent show.
