The greatest musicians are those that are able to think deeply about all aspects of life - not only music. The very name MOTA reveals the intellect, creativity, and uniqueness of this band. MOTA is the word "atom" backwards - which the lead singer, Julian Terris used to describe his own philosophy of the universe while in high school.
Julian realized that the atom, which is the substance of everything, is very similar in make up to our universe as a whole. After all, an atom is a nucleus surrounded by orbiting electrons, and our solar system is a sun, surrounded by orbiting planets. Julian states "it was total bollix of course". But is it really? Could our galaxy be a single "atom" of an even greater being?
Great people never limit themselves to that which has been proven. The world moves forward because of great ideas - founded on creativity, questioning the status quo, and never settling for mediocrity.
MOTA, made up of John Costa (bass), Joe Murphy (lead guitar), Dan Hearn (drums), and Julian Terris (singer), is a dynamic rock band from New Zealand that is doing an excellent job of creating their own unique sound that is catching and entertaining. We will post more about them and how to follow them here on our blog, on our Facebook, and our Twitter account. Check out their music on www.myspace.com/motarock.
